Lydia Luella Tannahill was the dau. of William Tannahill and Lillian Rosalee Bowlsby. She was born in 1881 in a dugout in Bellwood, Nebraska. She and her sister, Amy, had many fond memories of their childhood on the prairies of Nebraska. She married Melvin Sargent on June 8, 1920 in Lincoln, Nebraska. They moved to California when her parents and sister moved to Los Angeles and lived near them. Some years later Amy moved into a small house on their property. She was an invalid most of her life because of an accident when she was young. Melvin tenderly cared for her until she died July 18, 1969 in Los Angeles. She and Melvin did not have any children.
