Walter Calvin Johnson Sr., 79, of 1700 Summer died Monday morning in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Connally-Compton Downtown Chapel, the Rev. Nathan Booth officiating. Burial will be in Waco Memorial Park.
Mr. Johnson, a retired gardener was a native of Houston County. He had lived in Waco 38 years. He was a member of the North Waco Baptist Church, the Fellowship of Men Sunday school class and the Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Laura Johnson; two daughters, Mrs. Dixie Hutchins and Mrs. Lolita Collier, both of Waco; one son, Walter C. Johnson Jr. of North Carolina; five sisters, Mrs. Mabel McCullan of Michigan, Mrs. Iva Lee Mason of Lufkin, Mrs. Pearl Cooper of Humble, Mrs. Clara Sue Pythian of Crockett and Mrs. Anna Beth Spruell of Houston; one brother, Donley Troutman of Lufkin; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
