The daughter of Floyd Henry Bowman, Sr. and Barbara Ellen Worsham, Neva married Floyd Everett Huffstutler on 11 Apr 1928 in Johnson City, Illinois. They were the parents of 9 children, including 3 who died in infancy. The family lived in Alton, Madison County, Illinois for many years.

Neva was a charter member of the Alton First Southern Baptist Church. She was a member of the church choir.

Floyd worked as a crane operator for Laclede Steel in Alton for 33 years. He was in poor health for the final 3 years of his life, and died while leaving work in 1966. He was 57.

In 1992, Neva was honored by her surviving children on the occasion of her 80th birthday.

During her later years, Neva became a patient at D'Adrian Convalescent Center in Godfrey, Illinois. She died there while under the care of the Alton Memorial Hospice Program at the age of 89 years, 9 months and 6 days.

She was survived by 1 son, Floyd Huffstutler, Jr. of Clovis, California; 4 daughters and 3 sons-in-law, Barbara and August Westbrook of Brighton, Illinois, Sherry Antrobus of Alton, Illinois, Trina and Dewey Loberg of Godfrey, Illinois, and Regina and Jack Monroe of Deer Park, Texas; 1 son-in-law, Walter A. Ridder of Alton, Illinois; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mozelle Greenwell and Joy Sabo, both of Alton, Illinois; and 2 brothers, Bill Bowman of Bethalto, Illinois, and Jack Bowman.

In addition to her husband, Neva was preceded in death by her parents; 1 daughter, Shirley Ridder; 3 infant sons; 1 sister, Betty Steele; and 1 brother, Floyd Bowman, Jr.

A memorial service was conducted at 3 p.m. on 04 Aug 2002 at Harvest Christian Family Church in Alton, Illinois. Fine and Quinn Chapel for Funerals in Alton was in charge of arrangements.
