A memorial service is planned at 1 PM Monday at Ridgeway Funeral Home for retired Holley carburetor plant employee Bobby Lawrence Tidwell. Chad Kennedy will officiate.
Tidwell, 80, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Henry County Medical Center.
His body was cremated.
Born Sept 6, 1931, in Union City, he was a son of the late Robert L and Ina Elizabeth Killebrew Tidwell.
His wife, Rebecca Pauline Nixon Tidwell, died on Nov 24, 1999.
Tidwell was a member of Oak Hill Union Church. He retired after many years at the carburetor plant. He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War. A friend said he enjoyed fishing, his ham radio, animals and his two dogs.
He leaves one brother: Carroll Tidwell of Fort Worth, Texas; and a special friend: Ruby Johnson and her family of Paris.
Memorials may be made to the Henry County Humane Society, c/o Carol Douglas, 1303 Brentwood St, Paris.
