Double Rites For Daughter, Mother Today
A double funeral for a mother and her daughter will be held at the chapel of the Lodi Funeral Home this afternoon at 3 o'clock with Rev. E.C. Burdick of Sacramento, pastor of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints, officiating.
Mrs. Agnes Mae Vallem, Route 2, Box 373, Lodi, passed away yesterday afternoon at a local hospital following a short illness. Her mother, Mrs. Clistia Gordon, passed away Sunday afternoon. A change in funeral arrangements for the mother was made yesterday in order to hold both funerals together.
Mrs. Vallem came to the Lodi district in 1919 from Idaho with her husband and family. They made their home in the Lafayette district. She was born in Michigan and was 64 years of age. She was an active member of Woodbridge and Pomona Granges, having served as lecturer and treasurer.
She was the wife of George Vallem and mother of Robert Stevens and Elberon Stevens, Lodi. She was the sister-in-law of William Vallem, Lou Vallem, Raymond Vallem, Robert Vallem, all of Lodi. She was the daughter of the late Mrs. Clistia Gordon and sister of Mallroy Farley, Bert Farley, Dannie Farley, Korah Farley, Mrs. Arthur Jordan, Mrs. Peter Rey, and Mrs. A.T. Jenkins.
