Marjorie Jeanette Meyer, age 83, of Clarksville, Iowa, was born the daughter of Herman and Minnie (Kielman) Miller on January 4, 1931, rural Bristow, Iowa. She was baptized into the Christian faith in Dumont and later confirmed as a Lutheran in Greene. Marjorie received her education from a country school near her home and Greene High School in Greene, Iowa.

On January 23, 1949, Marjorie was united in marriage with Edward Henry Meyer at her parents' home in rural Greene. They made their home and farmed near Greene. Through the years they moved various times in the farming communities of Independence, Nashua, Greene, and Clarksville. In 1969 they settled down to their present farm, a couple of miles northeast of Clarksville. Marjorie worked alongside Edward on the farm, particularly helping with the dairy. She also raised a large garden every year and sold her produce and baked goods at the local farmers market.

Marjorie was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Clarksville where she enjoyed baking and providing food for most church events. She loved living on the farm and took great pride in their farm home. She always looked forward to their numerous trips to California and to Germany.
