DEATH OF DANIEL H. ABBE OF ENFIELD.
Daniel H. Abbe died at his home in Enfield Sunday morning. He was born in Enfield in 1816 and is the last but one of a family of 11. With the exception of one year he had spent his life in Enfield. He was twice married. His first wife was Miss Lucinda Phelps of Wilbraham, who died in 1884. His second wife was Mrs Julia Chapin of Enfield. He had been a great sufferer for a year from a cancer on his hand. Previous to his illness he was actively engaged in town affairs, having served in many positions of trust and responsibility. His sound judgment and ability in financial matters were often sought. He was a member of the First Congregational church, where his strong personality will be much missed. He leaves beside a widow two daughters, Mrs. Emeline L. Mason of Westfield and Mrs Sarah A. Parsons of Enfield, and one granddaughter, Miss Ida L. Killom of Westfield, and one brother, Norton Abbe, of Enfield. The funeral will be held at the residence on Enfield street at 2.30 o'clock.
