Newberry, Dec. 16 - Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie Dowd, wife of James M. Dowd, who died Friday afternoon at a hospital in August, GA., were held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock at Mt. Tabor Lutheran church, near Little Mountain, and were conducted by the Rev. J.L. Cromer. Mr. and Mrs. Dowd formerly lived in Newberry County, but for the past several years were living at Johnston.
Mrs. Dowd was 50. Besides her husband, she is survived by eight children. Three brothers and two sisters also survive, as follows: J. W. Shealy and T.A. Shealy, Little Mountain; C.D Shealy, Mrs. Alan Counts of Newberry; Mrs. Simon Shealy of Newberry County.
