Kingsbury Chemist Dies Suddenly Saturday Night of Embolism

Hugh James Cole, age 46 years, employed at the Kingsbury Ordinance plant, died suddenly Saturday evening at 10:30 o'clock in his home, 56 West Harrison boulevard. He had worked all day Saturday at the Kingsbury plant and was apparently feeling in excellent health. Death was the result of an embolism which developed and resulted in death before medical aid could be summoned.
The decedent was born on Jan. 1, 1896, at Barre, Vermont, a son of William Hugh Cole and Eunice (Jamieson) Cole. The family came to Valparaiso on June 6, 1937 to reside.
He was a graduate of the University of Vermont with the degree of B.S. in chemistry in 1919, and also attended the Case School at Applied Science at Cleveland, O.; Lehigh university and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also held a Master of Science degree.
Services Wednesday
He was a member of the Lamda Iota fraternity; a 32nd degree Mason, and a member of the Presbyterian church.
Surviving are the widow; one son, William Gould Cole, of Easton, Pa.; one daughter, Eunice Marilyn Cole, at home; two brothers, John Howard Cole, of Drexel Hill, Pa., and Frederick William Cole, of Barre, Vt., and one sister, Miss Eunice Isabel Cole, of Detroit, Mich.
Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the LePell and Son funeral home on Monroe street, conducted by Rev. Chester W. Wharton. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
Friends may call at the LePell and Son funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday and up until time of the services.
