Burl Alfred Ellsworth, 86, of Gideon, Mo., passed away Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Gideon Care Center.
Born Aug. 11, 1927, son of the late John Ellsworth and Fleta Hayes Ellsworth, he was a farmer, and a member of the Stanfield General Baptist Church in Gideon.
He married Katherine Ashley Ellsworth in Piggott, Ark., who preceded him in death on Oct. 12, 1946. On July 7, 1986, in Portageville, Mo., he married Martha Gum.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Ellsworth, of Gideon; one daughter, Lavanna Wilson and husband, Jimmy, of Portageville; two step-sons, Rick Branch, of Gideon, and Steve Branch, of Ellsinore, Mo.; three grandsons, Mikel Wilson, of Portageville, Cary Wilson, of Pollard, Ark., and Chris Wilson, of Portageville; one sister, Parthena Roberts, of Jackson, Mo., and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold, Norman, Dave and Vern Ellsworth.
Visitation is from 11:30 a.m. to service time at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 7, at the Stanfield General Baptist Church in Gideon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 7, at the Stanfield General Baptist Church with Revs. Kevin Roberts and Gary Don Richardson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton, Mo
