C.C." Springfield was born June 15, 1939 in Huntsville, Texas. His parents were Calvert Collier Springfield, Sr. and Winifred (Longino) Springfield. After growing up in Huntsville, he lived most of his life in Madisonville. He owned and operated Springfield Service Company for over 40 years. C.C. Springfield really enjoyed reading; especially the Bible and books about the old west. He also liked to bowl and was a good bowler. He and his son, Eugene, were members in several bowling leagues. Mr. C.C. was a member of the Madisonville Christian Fellowship Church.

He passed away in a Bryan Hospital on July 4, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Margaret Springfield and a brother, William Lawrence "Rip" Springfield. His surviving family members include his wife, Joy Springfield of Madisonville; a son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Jenna Springfield of Normangee; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Charlie Stark of North Zulch; brothers, Douglas Allen Springfield of
Tyler and John Ray Springfield of Minnesota; a sister, Katherine of Colorado; grandchildren Maricia, Matthew and Mallorie Ferrell, Levi Stark and Jessica, Christian, Garrett and Samantha Springfield. One great grandchild is on the way.
