Elmer M. Latta, 73, of East Church Street, Somerset, died Aug. 31, 1977, in Somerset Community Hospital. He was born Jan. 15, 1904 in Berlin. Son of David S. and Eva Ellen (Goughenour) Latta. Preceded in death by four sisters, three brothers, and one grandson. Survived by his wife, Philomene (Barr) and these sons: Eugene, of Easton; and James, of Tacoma Park, Md. Four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Walter Wesley, of Lancaster, and Mrs. William Mathias, of Windber. He was a retired employee of the B&O Railroad and F.O.E. Somerset Lodge 1801. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Thursday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Arnold S. Kastner officiating. Interment, Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
