2.) Budke, George H. from the translation by Rev. David Cole; MARRIAGE RECORDS OF THE DUTCH REFORMED CHURCHES OF TAPPAN AND CLARKSTOWN, ROCKLAND COUNTY, NEW YORK *1694 - 1831

* While the title page of the Budke work refers to the Marriage Records for the period 1694-1831, it is to be noted that the first record is that of a betrothal that took place on October 11, 1699, i.e., #244 in this presentation of the marriage records.

The following represents a compilation of the Tappan and Clarkstown marriages as recorded by George H. Budke in the undated Budke Collection No. 50 and the Tappan betrothals and marriages as published in the New York Genealogical and Biographical Record (NYG&B Record), Vols. 84(3), 84(4), 85(2), 85(3), 85(4), 86(2), 86(3) and 86(4) (1953 to 1955) and, after a 12-year gap, Vol. 98(4)
(1967).

Note: The spelling of surnames is extremely creative. There are no K’s - therefore people named ‘Kennedy’, ‘King’, and even ‘Glendenning’ are listed among the C’s. The ‘Umans’ and ‘Youmans’ are listed under ‘J’. There are several Waldrons recorded under Haldron.
