Enga M. Toepper, 91, passed away Tuesday (March 11, 2008) at Heritage Manor in Minonk. Formerly of Peotone and rural Green Garden, she currently resided in Toluca.

Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery, North Peotone. Pallbearers will be Tim, Matt, Steve, and Douglas Toepper; Tom Mattingly; and Dale Westlund.

She was born Sept. 14, 1916, in Monee, daughter of the late Henry and Anna (nee Hinze) Bohnsack.

She is survived by four children, Allen (Jean) Toepper, Toluca; Rita (Ron) Hartmann, Eolia, Mo.; Gary Toepper, Toluca; and Randy (Lori) Toepper, Magnolia; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and four stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl O. Toepper (Oct. 9, 1992), whom she married Dec. 22, 1935, in Beecher; one sister, Vernice Wilke; and one brother, Glen Bohnsack.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, North Peotone, where she was active in the Women's Guild. She played pinochle in her card club for 65 years along with several other card clubs.
