Born February 8, 1937 in Leslie, Michigan, he was the son of Ray and Etta (Church) Aleshire. Vernon worked as a supervisor at Ingham County Medical Center for many years, retiring in 1992. He has lived in the Fennville area for the past seven years coming from Harrison, Michigan.
