Hon. Allen B. Lemmon, formerly State Superintendent of Public Instruction, but now editor and publisher of the Newton Republican, spent a day or two in the city last week, called hither by the sad intelligence of the death of a younger brother, R.E. Lemmon, whose funeral took place last Thursday afternoon. On Friday the gentleman renewed acquaintance with his many friends here, and spent a very pleasant hour with the Kansan force, conning over reminiscences of bygone days.
