A few months after he returned from the war with Mexico he married Margaret A. Russell, Dec 20, 1847.
Note:This monument says died in Shiloh battle in Mississippi. I do not know if that is an error, but the battle of Shiloh was in Hardin County Tennessee. There may have been skirmishes as far south as into Mississippi though, but if he lies in state in one of those mass confederate graves those are in the Shiloh Battle Grounds Park in Hardin County Tennessee, but on the west banks of the Tennessee River.
Condensed from Ancestors & descendents of Jacob Wilhoite by Jacob and Faye Wilhoite and also Cemeteries of Marshall County Tennessee Tim & Helen Marsh and aided by Ralph Whitesell on some cemteries.
