Mrs. Mercer was an outstanding business woman having managed WMES Radio and Mercer Communications, Inc. in Ashburn, Ga. She also worked in financial services in Moultrie, Ga.
Mrs. Mercer was a 1951 graduate of Moultrie High School after transferring from Savannah High in Savannah, Ga. in 1949. She was born in Chatham County, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert V. Jones, Sr.
She is survived by her husband, Ray L. Mercer, Sr., Waycross, Ga., to whom she married on May 8, 1953. Mrs. Mercer is also survived by two sons, Mark Brannen Mercer, and Ray L. Mercer, Jr., five grandchildren and four step grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Robert V. Jones, Jr. Charlotte, North Carolina.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at the Ashburn First Baptist Church.
