PETER F. SLUSSER, 85 passes away at home in Van Buren Township--Lived there 69 years

Peter F. Slusser, aged 85 years, a citizen of Van Buren township for 69 years died at his home near New Stark of infirmities of old age at about 10 a.m. yesterday. He has been in a declining condition for the past three or four weeks.

Mr. Slusser was born in Stark county in 1837. His wife died several years ago. Five children survive, three sons and two daughters.

Services will be held from the New Stark Presbyterian church at New Stark at 10 a.m. Thursday. Rev. H. C. Blosser will be in charge.

Peter M. Slusser died at his home at New Stark, Ohio, Monday, aged 85 years. Mr. Slusser had been in failing health for some time and died from the infirmities of old age. His parents were Mr and Mrs. Jonathan Slusser and he was born and spent his younger years near Louisville. Five children are living. A. A. Slusser, Mrs. Barbara Schlott and Mrs. J. J. Immel, of Louisville and Mrs. George Fogle, of Cairo, are the surviving brothers and sisters. Funeral services are being held at New Stark today and A. A. Slusser and Mrs. J. J. Immel of Louisville, are in attendance.

PETER SLUSSER, PIONEER FARMER DIES AT HIS NEW STARK HOME

Peter Slusser, pioneer farmer of New Stark, passed away at his home Monday morning from infirmities of age, having reached the age of 85 years 4 months and one day.

Mr. Slusser was born in Stark county but his parents moved to New Stark when he was young. He has spent most of his life in the same community, being one of the foremost in all good causes. He was a man of high ideals and respected by all. He was a pioneer member of the New Stark Presbyterian church. His wife preceded him in death 8 years ago.

Three sons and two daughters live to cherish the memory of a loving father. One daughter, Mrs. Emma Tipple, passed to the beyond years ago, leaving two small children. The daughter, Miss Fairy Tipple, was reared to womanhood by her grandparents, and since the death of her grandmother she has been the home-keeper for her aged grandfather. The children are Mrs. Rena Sanderson of Ada, Mrs. Ella McClellan of Jenera, John Slusser of Findlay; Ira of Bluffton and Elmer, north of Ada.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning, Nov. 9, at the New Stark Presbyterian church conducted by Rev. J. W. Slack and Rev. H. C. Blosser. Burial at Eagle Creek cemetery. ??
