Suggested edit: Genevieve Clara Aanderjaska (sic) died Thursday (Nov. 23, 1989) at her home in Hayes Center at the age of 76.
She was born Dec. 2, 1912, in Frontier County to Jack and Jane (Cochran) Traphagan.
She attended grade school in Frontier County, St. Patrick’s Junior High in McCook and graduated from McCook High School. She attended Kearney State College, where she received her teacher’s certificate and later taught in Hayes County for two years where she met and married her husband, Fred.
They spend their 56 years of married life in Hayes County. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and the Sunnystitchers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, John and a sister, Loretta Ruppert.
Survivors include her husband Fred of Hayes Center, a son Roland of Hayes Center, two daughters, Janice Barber of Los Alamos, NM and Marilyn Fornoff of Hayes Center; four sisters, Eleanor Traphagan, Irene Vap, and Bernadine Malcolm of McCook and Leona McCracken of Blue Hill; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be said tonight at 7:30 pm at the Carpenter Breland Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday morning at 10:30 am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Gary Brethour officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials are being accepted in her name and may be left at the Carpenter-Breland Funeral Home.
