Mrs. Glendora Tapley Welch, 85, 415 South Fourth Avenue, Lanett, died at 8 am today at Valley Hospital, West Point, following a brief illness.
A native of Tallapoosa Co., she was a member of the First Christian Church of Lanett. Mrs. Welch was born December 23, 1881. She had been a resident of Lanett for the past 45 years.
Funeral services are pending but will be held at the First Christian Church of Lanett with the Rev. Rex Horne officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Lanett with Johnson Brown Services Funeral Home, Langdale in charge.
Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Lillian Ganun (sic, should be Ganus), Opelika; Mrs. Willie Oliver, Lanett, and Mrs. Ruby Bass, New Orleans, La. One sister Mrs. Lizzie Ward, 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren."
