Monroe township, Pike county, claims the oldest Democrat known in the Southern part of the state in the person of William Mason, who was ninety two years old Jan 7, 1891.  He has a sister, Mrs. Davis, who is ninety-six Jan 27.  How does this compare with Uncle Jimmy Hinman of Hart township, who voted for Jackson every time.

William Mason, of Patoka township, Pike County, is certainly a very old man--ninety-two--but he has a sister, Mrs. Davis of Monroe township, who was ninety-six the seventh of last January, and who is still living. In Warrick County there is a man, James Hinman, of Hart township, who voted for Jackson every time that distinguished personage was a candidate for president. All these old people have lived strictly moral lives. They are living examples for young people to follow.
