MANSFIELD: Phyllis Stanton Stahlheber, age 84, of Mansfield passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 in Ohio Health MedCentral Hospital following a short illness. She was born March 26, 1930 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania the daughter of Ralph and Eloise (Robinson) Stanton. She graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1948. Phyllis attended the University of Michigan as well as Mansfield Business College. She first worked at Stanton-Long Insurance Agency and retired from Bank One in 1992.On December 27, 1963 she married Frederick Stahlheber with whom she celebrated 48 years of marriage. He preceded her in death in 2012.A lifelong Richland County Resident, Phyllis was a member of Mansfield First Evangelical Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder. She took pride in caring for her flower garden and keeping her home a welcome place for family and friends. Phyllis loved to host family gatherings and entertain friends. They called her the "Betty Crocker of Millsboro Road" as she was an excellent cook and made her pies from scratch. She dearly loved and cherished spending time with her family.Phyllis is survived three daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie Lentz of Mansfield, Allison and Terry Bradford of Hilliard, Sarah and Steve Zirkle of Wyoming, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Mack Lentz, Dustin and Merceydez Bradford, and Rodney and Jamie Bradford; two great grandsons, Jaxson and Oliver Bradford; two sisters-in-law, Louise Stanton of Bradenton, Florida, and Gloria Stanton in Bay Village; and nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Andrew Charles Stahlheber, three brothers, Ralph, John and David Stanton.Friends may call Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 10 am to 11:30 am in the parlor of Mansfield First Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 399 South Trimble Road, Mansfield. The funeral service will follow in the sanctuary at 11:30 am. The Rev. Dr. William Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery. The Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
