JoAnn Louise Dickerson age 72, of Chanute, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014, at Diversicare in Chanute.

JoAnn was born July 31, 1941, the daughter of Leroy and Mary (Smedley) Lopeman in Thayer, KS.

JoAnn attended Royster Junior High in Chanute until the 8th grade.

JoAnn married Dallas Dickerson on July 26, 1956, in Erie, KS.

JoAnn worked as a cook for a nursing home for many years.

JoAnn enjoyed cooking and canning and being a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids.

She is survived by her husband Dallas, daughters; Denise Lynn Wright of Altoona, KS, and Donna Sue Myers of Chanute, KS, sisters; Phylis Taylor and husband Rick of Iowa and Arlean Noggel and husband Gary of Iowa, grandchildren; J.D. Alan, Ashley, and Dallas Wood; Racheal Cook; Jamie, Joy, Emilia, Sarah, Janessa, and Joseph Myers; four great grandchildren; several cousins, nieces, and nephews, and good friends; Dianne Knapp and Nancy Bollig.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; Leroy and Mary, son; David Dickerson, grandson; Tyler Hundley, and two sisters; Nadine Tucker and Mary Ann Lopeman.
