This information has been obtained by research rather than from a cemetery marker. If documentation of his burial location is found, the memorial will be removed or transferred.

Facts about the life of Henry Hastings Alexander are somewhat confusing. I have found no documentation of when he moved with his parents from Pennsylvania to South Carolina. Apparently his wife and all of their living children migrated to Shelby County, AL after his death in 1842. One source states that he died in Shelby County, but all others give South Carolina as his place of death.

There is also varied information about the number of children born to Henry and Mary. Most accounts list eleven children; but, one shows fourteen children, and another shows fifteen. All of the children seem to have remained in the Shelby County, Alabama area.
