Martha was daughter of Peter Buell and Martha Cogan Buell. She married Lt. Nathaniel Holcombe on Nov. 1, 1695 in Simsbury, CT.

Nathaniel was the gr. grandson of Deacon Samuel Chapin FAG #7153097. He was a well known member of the government in Springfield, MA. Many years after his death an 8 1/2' statue was erected in his honor in Merrick Park in Springfield, MA. The statue is called "The Puritan".
Nathaniel and Martha had 10 children and they were a son Capt. Nathaniel Holcombe FAG #122715424, Benjamin, Elizabeth (1704-1784), Judah (1/12/1706), Martha (4/5/1701-1/9/1716) married Jonathan Buttolph, David, Jacob, Mary (1711-10/10/1810 Dutchess Co., NY) married David Buttolph, Sarah (7/12/1713-6/20/1780 Berkshire Co., MA), Peter and Hannah (5/2/1718-10/10/1810 Dutchess Co., NY). I am questioning whether Hannah is a child. Martha's son Jonathan Buttolph is buried in Lee Cemetery. I am not sure if Jacob was a son.

Lt. Nathaniel Holocombe Jr., Martha's husband, was the grandson of Thomas Holcombe FAG #124586981. Nathaniel Jr. and Sr. are not on FAG. Nathaniel's mother was Catherine Chapin Bliss and her FAG #68735252.

One researcher suggested that she may have been buried in Hopmeadow Cemetery.
