Born to Sarah Elizabeth Alexander and Barron D. Alexander on September 9, 1887, in Bay Springs, Jasper County, Mississippi, Eunice Inez Roberts passed away at the family residence in the Roberts Community in Newton County on Tuesday, November 9, 1954. Funeral Services were held at the Newton Presbyterian Church on Friday, November 12, 1954, with Rev. J.R. Tackett, Rev. T.M. Lemly and Rev. T. Barton officiating with burial following in the Masonic Cemetery in Newton, Mississippi. She was a long time active member of the Roberts Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Roberts retired in 1951, as the postmistress in the Roberts Community after 30 years of service. She was commented by the Postmaster General for her record of loyal and efficient service to her community.
Survivors include her husband, George Duncan Roberts, two daughters Mary Alma Everett and husband Amos of Mobile, Alabama and Hattie Mae Murphy and husband, Victor of Newport News, Virginia, two sons George Hudson Roberts and wife Nina of Brookhaven, Mississippi and Clifford L. Roberts and wife Margie of Atlanta, Georgia, one grandson and four granddaughters.
