Jacob Franklin Henn, son of John and Priscilla Henn, was born at Ackley, Iowa, May 25, 1875, and died at his home in Belmond on July 3, 1943, making him 68 years, 1 month and 8 days old.
When but six months of age he moved with his parents to the vicinity of Belmond. Here he grew to manhood. As a young man he spent five years in Minnesota and South Dakota. He then returned to Belmond, rented his father's farm, and went to farming for himself. He batched for four years and then was married to Grace F. Schuler on Feb. 22, 1906. To this union were born five children. In December, 1936, he retired from the farm and moved to town. Here he lived until his death.
Mr. Henn is survived by his wife and five children, John of Belmond, Harley of Belmond, Mrs. Tillie Meinders of Belmond, William of Terril, Iowa, and Elmer of Norville, Michigan. He also leaves a brother George, whose address is at present unknown. There are also twelve grandchildren. In addition to his parents two sisters, Mrs. John L. Pals and Mrs. George Ell, preceded him in death.
A kind and good father, Mr. Henn will be greatly missed by his many relatives and friends.
Burial was in the cemetery in Belmond immediately following the service.
