Excerpt from petition:
"Rosa H Hardison who died May 10 /89 & left one child Lee A Hardison son of said J J Hardison"
-------------------------------------
Thanks to Kendall Sparkman for the following:
Sister Rosa H. Hardison, daughter of Oliver and Francis Jones, was born July 1, 1861, united with the church of Christ, under the preaching of the writer, Sept. 1876; was married to Bro. J. J. Hardison, December 15, 1879, departed this life May, 9, 1889.
Her dear father, and a devoted brother Lee, within the past seven months, have died, thus in so short a time, the death-angel, three times, has darkened the home of sister Jones, taking away her husband, one son and one daughter, truly she is "passing under the rod."
Sister Rosa lived a sincere, devoted Christian life. Blessed are they who die in the Lord. Oh! how sweet is the Christian's rest in the paradise of God, in that healthful clime, where sickness never comes, where there is no sorrow, pain or death, no more parting from loved ones, but where all is joy and peace forever.
May the blessing of the Almighty Father attend those who sorrow, and may their sorrows be mingled with the joy which the gospel of Christ alone can give.
E. B. Cayce., Franklin, Tenn., May 22, 1889.
