Mr. Rufus Henry Booth
KANNAPOLIS - Mr. Rufus Henry Booth, 84, of Kannapolis died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, at his home.
The graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis with Rick Erwin officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the D.A.V. Chapter 27.
Mr. Booth was born Jan. 29, 1921, in Madison County, Ga., to the late George Booth and Mildred Seymour Booth. He was employed with Cannon Mills Co. plants 1 and 6 weave room for 46 years until his retirement in 1986. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II, stationed in Iceland. Mr. Booth was preceded in death by six bothers, five sisters, his first wife, Mildred Collins Booth, and his second wife, Yvonne Campbell Booth, who died in 1998.
Survivors include two daughters, Kellye Reed of Kannapolis and Joy Peters and husband, Scott, of Hillsborough; son, Earl Booth and wife, Norma, of Kingman, Ariz.; brother, J. N. Booth of Stone Mountain, Ga.; a number of nieces and nephews; and son-in-law, Bobby Reed of China Grove.
Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Booth.
