Albert R. Yoss was born near Sardis, Ohio, May 18, 1886; died Sept. 21st, 1952 being 66 years, 4 months, 3 days of age.
He was the youngest of ten children born to Levi and Bertha Thonen Yoss. He spent his early life on the farm where he was born. He then moved to Wheeling, W. Va., where he lived five years.
In 1911 he moved to Crane Nest, Ohio, where he was in the general merchandise business until thirteen years ago, when he moved to Woodsfield where he continued in business until his death.
Forty-six years ago he married Clara Meeker of Clarington, Ohio Route 2. To this marriage four children were born, Cecil, Wilbur and Kenneth, all of Woodsfield and Mildred Elizabeth, who died in infancy.
He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, three sons and eight grandchildren all of Woodsfield, Ohio and Charles E. Yoss of Paden City, W. Va. besides many other relatives and a host of friends.
He was a member of the Methodist Church at Fletcher Chapel (Otto). He was jolly and fair in all his dealings with his fellowmen. He was well liked and respected by all who knew him. To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Bauer and Turner funeral home with Rev. H. J. Kopke and Rev. Charles D. Reed officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Where crystal streams through endless years,
Flow over golden sands,
And where the old grow young again.
We'll clasp our father's hands.
