He graduated from Bensalem High School, Bucks County, PA, in 1992. He attended Penn State University on an ROTC scholarship, graduating in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in Spanish. He entered US Army active duty in August 1996. He was a graduate of Airborne School, the Infantry Mortar Leader's Course, the Infantry Officer's Basic Course, Ranger School, the Infantry Captain's Career Course, and the Combined Arms and Services Staff School. While on deployment in Iraq, he was involved in a chase of hostile Iraqis who were tampering with a disabled, Russian-made armored vehicle northwest of Baghdad. During that pursuit, while traveling in a Bradley Fighting Vehicle, he was electrocuted by a low-hanging wire hidden among trees. He was given first aid but died later at a military hospital. Among his military awards and decorations were the Bronze Star Medal; Meritorious Service Medal; Purple Heart; Army Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster; Army Achievement Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster; Multinational Force and Observers Service Medal; Combat Infantryman's Badge; Expert Infantryman's Badge; and Army Parachutist Badge.
He was survived by his mother; his father; his wife; and two sisters.
