Mrs Mary C Brackman, of Ronceverte, mother of one of our foremost citizens, Atty Mason C Brackman, died at the home of her son in this city Wednesday afternoon at the ripe old age of 74 years, of heart failure.
Mrs Brackman had been in declining health for several years - since the death of her husband. She was in apparently good health on Wednesday. Atty and Mrs Brackman were away at the time death ensued. When they took leave Mrs Brackman was sitting in a rocker reading. On returning they found the aged lady had quietly and peacefully bid farewell to all thing finite and had joined that innumerable throng in the mansion beyond the skys.
Mrs Brackman is survived by two sons: Atty Mason C Brackman, of this city, and John Brackman, of Ronceverte, who was here at the time of the death of his mother, paying a visit.
The deceased was taken to Ronceverte Thursday where the funeral and burial services will take place today.
The Herald joins the host of friends of the relatives of the deceased in extending sympathy during these sad hours.
