WILLIAM MORRIS "MORRY" ANDERSON was the son of EVA LULU BISCHOFF (1893-1973) and WILLIAM MILLER ANDERSON (1894-1976).

Education: Graduated from Grant High School, then the University of Oregon (Eugene) where he joined the Sigma Chi fraternity. It was there he met the girl who became his wife, ALICE MARY RICHESON (1917-1997).

Marriage: 7 Dec 1940 in Portland, OR.

With war looming MORRY and MARY launched their lives together. MORRY worked in his father's car dealership, Anderson Motor Company, located in downtown Portland. They would add Willys Jeeps to their vehicle mix after the war.

Military: MORRY entered the US Navy on 28 Jan 1943. To his dismay his college education was deemed most useful in Hawaii as a lieutenant where he worked as a supply officer. His war-time letters to his brother-in-law showed his desire to be in action rather than Honolulu.

Upon discharge on 10 Jan 1946 he returned home to MARY and they increased their family to four with the birth of a son and daughter. As the post-war economy raised incomes and car ownership the family was able to settle into their long-time home in east Portland where MORRY played his favorite game, golf, at the Riverside Country Club.

Later in life he and MARY became snowbirds, spending winters in Coronado, CA. MORRY outlived his wife MARY and their son GARY.

Surviving at the time of his death were his sister, his daughter, her husband and their two children; his daughter-in-law and her two children; and three great-grandchildren.
