Alice Lola (Schwier) Ripple, 82, of Blairsville, was called home to the Lord Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Scenery Hill Manor, Indiana, Pa. She was born July 21, 1931, in Gallipolis, Ohio, daughter of Carl Schwier and Carrie (Call) Schwier. She was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, Blacklick Township. She enjoyed baking, canning and gardening. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Republican Committee for many years. With her husband, they volunteered as counselors for the Billy Graham Crusade in 1993. Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie Peterman and husband, James, of Shelocta; son, Walter Ripple and wife, Denise, of Indiana; son, Donald P. Ripple, of Indiana; son, Robert Ripple and wife, Cynthia, of Trafford; son, Lloyd Ripple and wife, Johnna, of Coral; daughter, Ann Bloom and husband, Jerry, of Blairsville; daughter, Yvonne Little and husband, Bradley, of Blairsville; son, John Ripple and wife, Dana, of Franklin; daughter, Lauraleen Fluke and husband, Daniel, of Blairsville; son, Lawrence Ripple and wife, Candace, of Brownsville; 25 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and brother, Lawrence Schwier, of Saxonburg. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Schwier; mother, Carrie (Call) Schwier; husband, Lloyd E. Ripple, who died in 2002; brothers, Carl, Kenneth and Edward Schwier; sister, Wilda Sylba; daughter-in-law, Linda Ripple; infant grandson, Robbie; and granddaughter, Laurann. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at the JAMES F. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., Blairsville. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014, in Hopewell United Methodist Church, Blairsville. The Rev. Brett Dinger will officiate. Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville. Memorials may be made to Hopewell United Methodist Church, PO Box 435, Black Lick, PA 15716 or VNA/Hospice, 850 Hospital Road, Suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701.
