Obituary published in The Gospel Messenger, June 15, 1918, page 382:

Cheville, Bro. Thomas J., born Dec. 12, 1872, in Canada, died at his home near Marshalltown, Iowa, May 22, 1918, of Addison’s disease, of which he had suffered since last August and was confined to his bed for the past eight weeks. He came to the States when but an infant. He married Miss Alta Furnas Oct. 13, 1897, He leaves his wife, four sons and one daughter. One son died four years ago. Bro. Cheville has been a member of the Iowa River Church of the Brethren for the past twenty years. He was a kind and loving husband and father. Services by Eld. J. H. Cakerice, assisted by Eld. F. M. Wheeler. Interment in the Iowa River cemetery. – Miss Martha Hodges, Marshalltown, Iowa.
