Agnes C. Vanderwall, 97, of Dwight, passed away early Tuesday morning (June 24, 2014) at Heritage Health, Dwight.
She was born Nov. 11, 1916 in Goodfarm Township to Albert and Ellen Male Meade. She was married to Olen Tweedt from 1945 until his death in 1968. She was later married to Ray Vanderwall in 1971 until his death in 1979.
She is survived by her stepsons, Mike (Pam) Vanderwall and Gary (Debbie) Vanderwall; a sister, Gwendolyne Monferdini; a nephew, Frank (Sandy) Monferdini Jr., niece, Donna Tweedt, Pontiac; as well as many more nephews, nieces, great-nephews and -nieces and a great-great-nephew.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands; a brother, Dan Meade; a sister, Ivy Tweedt; two brothers-in-law, Joe Tweedt and Frank Monferdini; two nephews, Joe Tweedt Jr. and Tom Tweedt and a niece, Aileen Rurifoy.
She graduated in 1934 from Gardner-South Wilmington High School. She enlisted in the Women's Army Corps in 1943 as a medical non-commissioned officer 673. She received many decorations and citations. She ended her service honorably in 1945.
