*Eulalia Pérez y Cota was born at Loreto, Baja California [Sur], about 1768. She was the daughter of Diego Pérez and Rosalia Cota. She married (1) soldado Miguel Antonio Guillén y Duarte at Loreto about 1789. She came to Alta California with her husband and three children about 1798 when her husband was transferred to the Presidio of San Diego. She gave birth to eight more children at San Diego. Miguel died at Los Angeles in July 1819 and was buried in the San Gabriel Mission Cemetery July 7, 1819. Eulalia married (2) the widower Juan Mariner y Salvatierra at San Gabriel Mission July 7, 1832. After Juan died at Los Angeles in August 1838, for the next 40 years Eulalia remained at San Gabriel Mission serving as the "llavera" ("keeper of the keys").
