Virginia Beach - Bernice Marr Atkins, 83, passed away October 13, 2013. She was born in Norfolk, Va to the late Russell and Verdie Marr. She was a graduate of Granby High School and during her later years, she worked for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. She enjoyed camping, sewing and her shelties. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Regina Epley & her husband, Albert and Nancy Wintemberg & her husband, Harold; grandsons, Daniel Swartz & his wife, Jennifer, Bob Wintemberg & his wife, Kristen and Brian Wintemberg & his wife, Emily; great-grandsons, Gregory & Luke Wintemberg and sister, Mary Ann Coggsdale. Other than her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Reginald Atkins and sister, Margaret Carlson. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Graham Funeral Home with Dr. James Baker officiating. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery on a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6-7:30 p.m. The family would like to thank the staff at Clare Bridge of Virginia Beach Estates for their tender care over the years. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her memory.

Bernice was a daughter of Russell Owen Marr and Verdie Lee Taylor; sister to Margaret Lee and Mary.
She married on Aug 20, 1950 with Reginald Carl Atkins; mother of Regina and Nancy.
Bernice was a Loving mother, grandmother and aunt always opening her heart and home to family and friends; she was a lady and strong woman tackling any and all tasks presented to her. She had a love for travel and enjoyed camping.
