HARTFORD CITY - An Angel on Earth has made her way to Heaven, Jessie L. Welch, 76, passed away at 5:20 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2014 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Montpelier, on December 22, 1937 to Paul Rogers and Minnie (Malott) Rogers. Both her parents precede her in death as does her step-mother that raised her, Agnus Rogers.
Jessie married Richard O. Welch on January 16, 1958. She was a member of St. John's the Evangelist Catholic Church.
She was a very kind and generous woman and loved taking care of her grandchildren. She liked BINGO, rummage sales and liked to dance to the music. She loved flowers especially her rose bushes and her dogs.
Jessie retired from Overhead Door.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Veronica J. (husband, Dennis) Clinger of Ohio, Mary Ann Corvin of Goshen, Tina Marie Skinner of Hartford City, Bobbie J. Willett of Hartford City; sons, Richard Paul Welch of Hartford City, Frederick "Freddie" C. (wife, Sherry) Welch of Hartford City; nineteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard "Dick" (wife, Kay) Rogers of Portland, Clyde "Buster" F. (wife, Barbara) Rogers of Pennville; sisters, Barbara Rogers of Las Vegas, Rosemary (husband, Lanny) Robertson of Muncie, Mae Pursley of Hartford City, Marjorie Gadbury of Muncie; several nieces and nephews.
She is precedes in death by her parents, Paul, Minnie and Agnus; son, Worden "Willie" E. Welch; daughters, Ida Mae Alborg and Amy June Welch.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2014 at St. John's the Evangelist Catholic Church, 209 S. Spring St. Hartford City with Father Sean Pogue officiating
Burial will follow at Hartford City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. Hartford City.
