Alice L. Vandergriff, 85, of Carrollton died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at Boyd Memorial Hospital in Carrollton. She was born in Pittsfield May 5, 1920 to the late Charles and Okla Lautzenhiser Mooney. She first married Carl Ator March 17, 1937 and he preceded her in death Jan. 26, 1970. She married Leroy Vandergriff who preceded her in death July 11, 1992. Surviving are two sons, 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a sister and two brothers. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelby M. Brummell; a granddaughter, LuAnn Hemphill; two brothers, Bill and Sharon Mooney; and a sister, Laura Mooney. Alice had worked at Rimbey's Florist in Carrollton, attended the Carrollton Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Birthday Club at Rockport. She will be sadly missed by family and friends. Visitation will be from noon until service time at 2 pm at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton Thursday, April 6. Following the services at 2 pm burial will be at Miller Cemetery near Atlas. Memorials may be made to Carrollton Presbyterian Church or the Boyd Memorial Hospital.
