Funeral services for W. H. Bancroft, age 88, formerly of Oak Grove, Louisiana, will be 2:00PM, Friday, February 11, 2011, at Cox Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Pepmiller and Paul Gandy officiating. Interment will be in the New Forest Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2PM - 9PM, Thursday from 8AM - 9PM and Friday from 8AM until service time at Cox Funeral Home.
He is preceded in death by his son, Charles Edward Bancroft; grandson, Douglas Kent Bancroft; parents, Marshall Eugene Bancroft and Minnie Myrtle Cellers Bancroft; sister, Mary Lou Bancroft. W. H. was owner of Bancroft Butane for many years.
He was a member of the Louisiana LP Gas Commission. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
W.H. is survived by his wife, Jeanne Bancroft of Hohenwald, Tennessee; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Ray Bancroft Sr. and Alice Bancroft of Forest, Louisiana; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Reynolds and Joel Reynolds of Hutto, Texas; step-son and in-law, David Harris and Rita Harris of West Monroe, Louisiana; step-son and in-law, Danny Harris and Pat Harris of West Monroe, Louisiana; step-son and in-law, Donny Harris and Suanne Harris of Jay, Florida; brother and sister-in-law, Marvin Ray Bancroft and Deloris Bancroft of Longview, Texas; special friends, Paul and Trish Gandy; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Bancroft, Eddie Bancroft, Bobby Ray Bancroft, Shane Harris, Jamie Harris, Michael Munsford.
