Emery F. Nowak, Jr., 77, of Gurnee, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2007 at Winchester House in Libertyville after a year-long illness. He was born on June 18, 1929 in Illinois to Emery F. and Marian (Dickson) Nowak, Sr.
Survivors include his daughter, Michelle (John) Murdock of Frederick, CO; foster son, Raymond Zimmer of Gurnee; granddaughters, Courtney Kidder of Frederick, CO, Nicole (Troy) Tarbox of Letcher, SD; great-grandsons, Leighton Emery Tarbox, Attley Troy Tarbox; several nieces and nephews and his loving pets, Lil Lil Bandit and Schnopsie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his ex-wife and very close friend, Beatrice Nowak who passed away in 1996; one brother; and two sisters.
Emery graduated from Warren High School as well as Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. He was a teacher at Gurnee District #56 and later retired from Woodland District #50. He enjoyed decorating his yard all year and flower gardening. He loved his pet dogs, cat and birds.
Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 from 10:00 AM until funeral services at 11:30 AM at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gunree, IL. Burial will follow at Aarrowood Cemetery, Vernon Hills, IL.
