Ruth Evelyn Kimball, 70, passed away June 12, 2014 in her residence. She was a lifelong Vinton resident and worked as a caregiver for many years. She loved gardening, enjoyed cooking and feeding a houseful of family and friends. Most of all she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruth will be remembered for always finding the silver lining in every cloud.
Survivors include her children, Michael Beard and wife Stacy, Travis Beard and wife Cara and Melissa Hebert and husband Todd all of Vinton; siblings, Ralph Kimball and wife Joanne of Alexandria Mike Kimball and wife Susie of New Iberia, Bobby Kimball of California and Teena Burke of Starks; grandchildren, Valorie Beard, John Beard and wife Rachel, Daniel Beard, Todd Beard and wife Mandy, Chad Beard, Justin Palmer and Amanda Mahan, Logan Beard and Adam Beard; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Beard, Peyton Beard, Branton Courville , Braylon Beard, Baylee Palmer and Isabella Beard.She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Frenzel Kimball and Floyd Willie Kimball.A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 24 in Antioch Baptist Church. The Rev. Russell Beard will officiate. The family will receive family and friends Tuesday from 8 - 10 a.m. Inurnment will be at a later date in Niblett's Bluff Cemetery.
