Jerry Eugene Mann, age 79, passed away on Saturday June 21, 2014 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 30, 1934 in Edna, Kansas to Vernon and Naomia Ferguson Mann. Jerry grew up in rural Jasper County, Missouri and graduated from Alba High School in 1952. After graduation,
he joined the US Navy in Joplin, Missouri May 12, 1954 and was a P.O. 1st Class Crew Chief. After serving his Country, Jerry became an Electronics Technician for the Aircraft Communications.
After retirement, he returned to rural Jasper County and was a faithful member of Christ Church of Oronogo. He is survived by his Children daughter LaCata Darlene Mann Brown of Cleburne, Texas, three sons, Jeffrey Alan Mann, Michael Kevin Mann and Jason Charles Mann, all of Shreveport, Louisiana, a brother Kevin Mann, two brother in-laws L.D. and Dorsey Edwards. He was blessed with five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and a many other loving friends and family.
Mr. Mann was preceded in death by his wife Darlene Avis Mann, a daughter De Edra Michelle Mann, two infant Sons, his father Vernon Mann, mother Naomia Ferguson Mann, a brother Jim Mann, sister Judy Mann and brother in-law Gordon Edwards.
The funeral service will be held Monday 10:00 am at Christ Church of Oronogo. followed by burial at the Friends Cemetery at Purcell Mo. The family will receive friends Sunday 6:00 -7:00 pm at the church.
