Mr. Armstrong was born on June 4, 1919, in Gorman, Texas, to John Hardy and Lela Frances Clement Armstrong. He married Marvelene Moore on Oct. 7, 1939, in Carbon, Texas. Weldon worked for Mobile Oil, also known as Magnolia Petroleum, as a pumper from 1951 to 1984. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eastland.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Marvelene Armstrong of Eastland; daughter, Carole Knight of Wichita Falls; and son, Larry Armstrong and wife Vicki of Eastland; grandchildren, Kim Pitman of Wichita Falls and Randy Knight and wife Elaine of Wichita Falls, Kelly Armstrong of Eastland and Steve Armstrong of Austin; great-grandchildren, Amber and Tawny Broomfield, Kendye Hodges, Abby, Emily, and Zackary Knight.
