She was born on September 3, 1926 in Madison County, TN a daughter of Mark and Bertha Newell Miller. She married Walt E. Buttrum on May 7, 1965 in Peoria, IL. He passed away on March 17, 2005.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Bambi Landreth of Eureka, IL; two step-children, Lowell Buttrum of Dixon Springs, IL; Barbara Howard of Bowling Green, KY; two grandchildren, Amanda Sanders of Eureka, IL; Jacqueline Landreth of Grapevine, TX; four great-grandchildren, Harley Marie, Daniel, Emma, and Elijah Sanders; one brother, Levi Miller of Corinth, MS; and one sister, Nancy Blakley of Selmer, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Linda Landreth, one son, Kenneth Landreth, one brother, Titus Stanfill, and her step-mother, Bertha Miller.
Edith worked in the manufacturing industry and later worked as a rental property manager in a mobile home park until her retirement.
Edith enjoyed the outdoors, her dogs and cats, gardening and fishing.
She volunteered for over 25 years for the Goreville Ministries Alliance Thrift Shop. Edith's greatest pleasure was being with her family and her best friend of 40 years, Esther Dillow.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Washington Christian Church. Rev. Jeff Browning will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is assisting the family with their arrangements.
