On July 2, 2012, Gary Hoskins Sr., 69, passed away peacefully in Hazelton, ID, surrounded by his family.

Gary was born December 18, 1942, in Tillamook, Oregon, to Herbert and Wilma (Butcher) Hoskins. When he was a teenager, his family moved to Newberg, OR, where he attended Newberg High School.

In 1967, he met JoAnna Andersen, and they were married on August 23, 1968 in Pocatello,Idaho. They first moved to Burley, then settled in Hazelton, or "God's Country", as Dad put it.

Dad was a welder by trade, and owned his own business, until a welding injury in 1998 forced him to retire. Dad then took a job driving school bus for Douglas Service for Valley School District. He was loved by students and faculty alike.

Dad became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on July 23, 2000. He held the position of Sunday School President for many years. Dad also won the Monte Andrus Award, of which he was very proud. He was a huge supporter of Valley High School athletics.

Dad is survived by his wife, Jo; sons: Larry Stonebrink, Arnold (Penni) Stonebrink and Gary (Amy) Hoskins, Jr.; daughters, Kelly Hoskins and Kim (Gary) Cornwell; son-in-law, Ron Lewis; 40 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Judy and Margaret; and daughter, Sandy Lewis.

The family wishes to thank Idaho Home Health and Hospice, with a special heartfelt thanks to Susan.

Services will beheld Saturday, July 7, at 11:00 a.m., at the LDS Church in Hazelton. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls.
