Stella was to give birth to three more children. In 1909, Stella, pregnant with her fifth child, died in childbirth. Five years later in 1914, John James O'Connor married Mary Gertrude "Mamie" Dye. In this blended family from the early 1900's, five more children were added.
James John O'Connor was a resident of Akron for 45 years and was employed at Firestone as a security guard for 23 years, retiring in 1964.
On the 18th of April 1942, James John O'Connor married Elizabeth Marion Strebler Thomas. They had a daughter and a son.
