SALTILLO – Marie Mallette, 87, died Thursday, March 31, 2016, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born September 11, 1928, to Carlis and Addielee Mills Thompson. She loved cooking, bingo, traveling, but most of all her grandchildren and the time she spent with them.
Services were 1 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with speaker and singers Talmadge and Telthia Smith officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include three children, Harvey Mallette, Edith Mallette, and Jeanette Hankins (Terry); four sisters, Marine Garrett, Corrine Culver, Lorene Holcomb and Elizabeth Carpenter; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, William Harvey Mallette; sister, Pearline Rabinowitz; two brothers, Clinton and Kenneth Thompson.
Pallbearers will be Michael Mallette, Harvey Mallette, Jr., Dewayne Dickerson, Barry Garrett, Tyler Cayson, Peyton Smith and Chance Rowland.
